About me

Meet Denyse Gridley!

​

Hi, I am a Canadian author/illustrator who loves creating imaginative and engaging picture books that make kids laugh.

​

I am a retired elementary school teacher with a B.A. and B.Ed. from Queen's University. In my teaching career I had the pleasure of seeing children’s genuine reactions to thousands of picture books. That is the inspiration I use in crafting stories and illustrations that children will love and want to read again and again!

​

I am a proud member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).

 

​I am also a fine artist with gallery representation, who paints wildlife, landscapes and florals in oil.  See my paintings at DenyseGridleyArt.com

I currently live on a small lake in Eastern Ontario, Canada. When I'm not writing, illustrating or painting, I can be found kayaking, hiking, playing golf and travelling.

​

I have a book dummy and several completed manuscripts ready. I am now working on an additional book dummy. 

 

I am currently seeking a literary agent.
